Governmentwide Acquisition Strategy

GSA was designated by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB Memorandum 05-24) as the Federal Executive Agent for governmentwide acquisitions for products and services required to implement HSPD-12.

GSA is ensuring products and services that meet all applicable federal standards and requirements are made available through Federal Supply Schedule 70 for Information Technology, a schedule under the Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) Program.

Any agency making procurements outside of these GSA vehicles must certify the products and services procured meet all applicable federal standards and requirements, ensure interoperability and conformance to applicable federal standards for the lifecycle of the components, and maintain a written plan for ensuring ongoing conformance to applicable federal standards for the lifecycle of the components.
